The sounds of the Irish and the smell of hot dogs filled the air at the Town Gazebo July 20^th as the Fairfield Fire Fighters sponsored their yearly concert in the Fairfield Recreation Summer Concert series.  This year as in years past the Bravest sponsored Keltic Kick who had the capacity crowd on their feet dancing and singing.

Although the extreme heat kept some folks at home the Fire Fighters fired up the grille and cooked up a storm. It has become an annual event that everyone seems to enjoy.

“We serve up around 600 hotdogs and sodas at the concert each year.”, Said event coordinator and Local 1426 Executive Board member Kevin Polcer.”The concert gives us a chance to get out into the community and meet some of the people and reconnect with some old friends. It’s one of the most popular concerts of the year.”

“We have been doing a concert in the series for about 10 years now and I can see us continuing our efforts as long as the series goes on. It’s a fun night not only for the concert goers but for us as well.” stated Local 1426 President Doug Chavenello.
